Development Updates

Economic

  • Provision of livelihood and employment through the livestock and poultry dispersal program to the marginalized families: 1,767 piglets, 281,956 kabir chicks and 8,212 ducklings.
  • Assistance to poor farmers by providing seeds and fertilizers at a lower cost through the Seed and Fertilizer Subsidy program of the Department of Agriculture (DA).
  • Construction of Soil Laboratory.
  • Maintenance of post-harvest facilities.

Social

  • Employment of youth under the Special Program for the Employment of Students (175 grantees).
  • Distribution of books and school supplies to school children in the depressed barangays in collaboration with the UNICEF-CPC6 program.
  • Hiring of provincial-paid teachers 75 under the Special Education Fund.
  • Promotion of Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) by providing trainings/seminars to stakeholders and distributing ECCD supplies and materials to day care centers.
  • Equal opportunity for men and women employees in human resource development.
  • Implementation of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
  • Extension of health services through the mobile hospital and the new provincial hospital.
  • Creation and filling-up of additional items to augment the existing personnel positions.
  • Enrolment of 15,023 indigent families provincewide to the PhilHealth para sa Masa.
  • Provision of training for parents and guardians on basic nutrition and proper care for children.
  • Capability building for health workers on maternal care.
  • Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) counseling provincewide.
  • Information campaigns for the people to be aware and adopt practices that may prevent incidence of these and other communicable diseases.

Development Administration

  • Continuous information drive on taxation awareness to improve local tax collection efficiency.
  • Conduct of actual real property inspections for assessments.
  • Yearly allocation for Gender and Development.
  • Separate allocation for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and programs for women\'s welfare (P50,000 for PWDs and P1M for women).
  • Participation of women in legislative and local special bodies.
  • Provincial counterpart of P2 M to UNICEF-assisted CPC6 for the welfare of children and women.
  • Purchase of relocation sites for squatters along the Tacurong-Isulan Road right-of-way.
  • Preservation of peace and order by employing police auxiliaries (60).

Environment

  • Implementation of cleanliness programs.
  • Enactment of ordinances regulating extraction and utilization of mineral resources in the province.
  • Creation of Anti-Illegal Quarry and Anti-Illegal Mining Task Forces to enforce corresponding laws.
  • Rehabilitation/protection/maintenance of watershed areas in cooperation with the Allah Valley Landscape Development Alliance (AVLDA)- member LGUs.
